This most recent leg workout was so nasty I had to share it with you all. Whoever tries this is going to hate me ha. It will be most brutal while you endure it and expect to hurt in the morning. I am 3 weeks out from the natural IPE World Championship so this is part of my cutting contest prep. My goal is to retain muscle and shed body fat. This workout will get it done. Legs:
Superset 1: Do these two exercises back to back without rest even between sets. This is a true non-stop superset. 5 sets.
1a. Hammer Strength Leg Extension: 5×15-20 reps
1b. Step Up Knee Up: 5×30 total reps (alternate legs)
Note: Use a regular extension machine if you have no access to Hammer Strength.
Superset 2: Do these two exercises back to back without rest for 1 set. Do 4 sets total. Keep rest short between sets. No more than 60 secs.
2a. Smith Machine Split Squat: 4×15
2b. Jump Squat: 4×25
VMO Giant Set 3: Do these 4 exercises back to back without rest for 1 set. Do 3 sets total.
3a. VMO Hack Squat: 15 reps (place ball between knees as shown)
3b. Side Step Overs: 30 reps total (alternate legs)
3c. VMO Leg Press: 15 reps (place ball between knees as shown)
3d. Side Step Overs: 30 reps total (alternate legs)
4. Sissy Squats: 4×20. Only 30secs rest between sets. Use pause rest if necessary.
5. Glut/Ham Raise: 3×15. Short rest periods.
6. Uni-Lateral Kettlebell Straight Leg Deadlifts: 3×15. Just go back and forth between lets with no rest until done.
Optional HIIT:
Battle Ropes: 15 secs alternating, 15 secs slams, 30 secs rest x 10
